Silly Love Songs

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I feel somewhat like being a rebel this week and not doing Wordless Wednesday and instead thought I'd try something a little fun for a change. As easy as WW can be, I just don't have a picture I want to post this week plus I honestly don't know how many other blogs I would be able to get around to. I'm having a severe case of the lazies and, as we all know, blogging requires energy, stamina, and a certain amount of enthusiasm - all of which are in short supply for me this week!

You don't have to have a lot of those things to search around on You Tube, though, and while I was doing just that I came across a video clip from one of my favorite movies, Moulin Rouge. Even though Come What May is my all-time favorite song from the film, Elephant Love Medley is also a favorite as it's made from a compilation of love songs - 13 of them to be exact. Sentimental sap and eternal romantic that I am, I love a good love story as well as a good love song and that's exactly what you get from Moulin Rouge several times over.

So just for fun, I'm going to post a video of Elephant Love Medley and I'd like to challenge you to name all 13 songs in it (without cheating and looking it up!).

Leave your answers in the comments and we'll see who gets the most right. No prize except for bragging rights that you really know your love songs!

And just because I like the song so much, I'm also posting a video of Come What May for those who want to see what a major league sentimental sap I really am underneath this hard exterior that I like to portray. Just remember - "the greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return ..." right, Stockton??

Can I still come visit if I confess that I don't like this movie?

If the answer is no, then forget I said anything.

Good competition though for those who like the film. :)

That is the most bizarre clip!

I don't remember it. Saw the movie once, thought it sucked and forgot about it.

Ahhhh, I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! love love love love.. I have no speakers, *cry* and of course now I can't remember how it starts.. sigh. Silly love songs, love lifts us up where we belong, all you need is love, heroes, just for one day.. i will always love you, how wonderful life is, now you're in the world :) I know some of those aren't the actual titles, but I'm really bad with that sort of thing. Still, a wonderful movie.

The techonology for this movie was overwhelming. If you count the spoken titles, here is what I heard:

A Life Without Love
Love Lifts Us Up Where We Belong
Love Is a Many Splendored Thing
All You Need Is Love
I Was Made For Loving You
Just One Night
In The Name of Love
Sweet Love
Silly Love Songs
Love Lifts Us Up Where We Belong
We Should Be Lovers
Your Song (This Songs For You?)

I wouldn't know where to start. Actually, though I'm Nicole Kidman's biggest fan, I've never warmed to this movie for some reason.

Sorry Ranger S., but I just don't Moulin Rouge. This week is more about Pulp Fiction. However, I AM in a dimension sometimes known as Stockton, and as I'm not so sure anyone else out there is (snorting black coffee through nasal cavities...hold on..), I guess I've gotta represent for the 209 and agree with you. To have loved and have been loved in return is about the ONLY thing I've learned. As interesting and challenging life can be sometimes, I have to say it is enough for me.

Mizcyn,

Having spent two years in Stockton, you have my deepest sympathy. It's the only place that made Fresno look like a good idea.

"To Love And be loved in return" Was Nature Boy in there? I'll have to listen again.

Linda - I feel like a traitor but I've never even seen this movie! I saw the original when I was but a child and it scared me (the actor who played Toulousse Latrec) (sp?) and I've never had a desire to watch it. Sorry!!!

I watched your clips via google reader, then wasn't able to comment because of blankety-blank blogger yesterday.
But I LOVE LOVE LOVE this movie.
Fell in love with Ewan MacGregor in it.
Have the sound track CD and love to sing along in the car.
cheers,
